So when a brand like Tapis Noir builds the foundation of their company on celebrating provenance and with a focus on artisanship, it's sort of a no-brainer for us. That and their scarves are gorgeous and will add an air of luxury to any outfit.
The Light Pink Paisley Scarf in red is lovely and airy and made from a soft blend of cotton and silk. Inspired by an ornate print of French paisley made in Paris in 1871, the edges are rolled and sewn by hand – a time-intensive process that produces the most attractive hem.
Scarf tying is a bit of an art and we are currently using the Friendship Knot. Originating in China between 960-1279 AD and recently used by Boy Scouts across America -this traditional method is a symbol of friendship (especially if you have your neckerchief tied on by a friend). So go on and get one for yourself and all the special people in your life (hint this makes an excellent gift).
