As the name very much does not suggest, Tapis Noir is in fact Danish. Founded by Mads Lehn Kruse, this collection of silk and cotton scarves celebrates his love of interiors, textiles and the Arts and Crafts movement. The scarves in our edit use digital prints of glorious antique French textiles, and play with scale and colour. These are beautiful, decorative and useful. Just as William Morris would have wanted.

AW26 sees the launch of a capsule collection of apparel to sit alongside the iconic silk and cotton scarves. We love the elegance and understated prettiness of the Frances shirt and Farah skirt, perfect to pair back to this season’s key denim and ubiquitous knits. Mads has trawled his archive of prints for the very best in antique textiles. This season’s scarves highlight the floral from blowsy peonies and dark roses to ditzy convolvulus and ribbon stripe daisies. This is everyone’s favourite accessory.
