We absolutely love, love, love a celebration. Join us as we mark the birthdays of two very special Hambledoners (well, all Hambledoners are special obviously): Joe and Jodie. Although the shop may be closed, we are still very much working here at no. 10 but we took a little time from our busy schedules for a little party.

Without wishing to seem like a flock of ostriches with our heads in the Hambledon sand (Lord knows, this has been a pretty crazy start to 2021 for all of us and we’d be a bit mad to deny it), we just thought we’d enjoy a little look forward to some of the new and fun and beautiful things on the shopkeeping horizon. The doors may be closed at no. 10 but the lights are most definitely on.

How we have missed you, you beautiful people. We are absolutely beyond delighted and very, very thrilled to be reopening the shop on Wednesday 2 December. While the packing elves have been busy with the craziness of online orders, the VM elves have been busy with getting the shop up and together for your arrival, just in time for all your Christmas shopping. Believe us when we say we are awash with all the good stuff.

Yep. It’s getting to feel a lot like Christmas. And we’re not at all abashed about our early embracing of the festive season. We usually wait until the very end of October but this year we felt like we wanted to maximise the joy and ramp up the anticipation. Get your Christmas hat on right now.

It’s not often you get to live life vicariously but a few weeks ago we had the absolute pleasure of starring in our very own feature film. With Sonder Films looking after all things film, we just needed a fully functioning costume department to plan all the outfits.

We are delighted to launch our latest film, celebrating Autumn at The Hambledon and starring our very own Team Hambledon. This is another joyful collaboration with our friends at Sonder Films.

It might seem perverse but this Autumn seems a particularly good time to celebrate the joy that is shopkeeping. With the doors closed for a few months, we’ve had a bit of time to reflect on how much we love what we do. With the doors back open, we’re appreciating the things, the people and the place that make this such a lovely job.

As you should also know July 24th marks the start of mandatory mask wearing in shops in the UK. So we’ve paired up with long time friend of shop, designer, social entrepreneur and founder of Fieldplay, Linda Mackie, on a mask project.
