Pair Of Painted Oak Chairs By Charles Dudouyt, France c1940
£2,250.00
A pair of oak armchairs by French designer Charles Dudouyt, c1940. They have a historical off-white painted surface, which shows age and wear, making them all the more distinct and pleasing. The proportions are generous, making them comfortable, and the straw seats are in excellent condition so have probably been re-rushed at some point. Charles Dudouyt (1885 - 1946) founded his Paris factory in 1933, with his designs focused on strong Art Deco forms, pairing playful geometrics with an attention to the craft and construction of every piece.
