How do I make a purchase?

Please use the main category navigations to assist you through our online shop: WOMEN, MEN, HOME, BEAUTY & GROOMING, BOOKS & STATIONERY and GIFTS. If you’re looking for a specific item, please use our SEARCH box (magnifying glass). Alternatively browse by brand using the BRANDS tab.

Once you have found what you are looking for, select size and quantity and click ‘ADD TO BASKET’. Review your selected items by clicking the BASKET symbol in the top right corner of the page. You can remove items from your shopping basket at any time during your visit.

When you have decided what you would like to purchase, hover on the BASKET symbol to either review your items by clicking on ‘BASKET’ or click on the ‘CHECKOUT’ button to buy your items, then complete your purchase.

Do I need to setup an account to make an order?

No. You can check out as a guest. But if you set up an account we will hold your billing and delivery details to make shopping easier next time. You can update your details at any time.

Can I place an order by phone?

Yes. If you would like to speak to someone please ring 01962 890055 and we can process your order over the phone.

Is is safe to use my credit card on your website?

We use the latest SSL encryption technology to transmit your personal and credit card information through our systems. All orders are processed through a secure checkout system provided by Sagepay. For your safety and protection, we will confirm that the billing address you provide matches the address registered with your credit card company. For additional security, we use Verified by Visa and MasterCard® SecureCode™. These services enhance security against unauthorised use of your credit or debit card when shopping with us. To find out more visit the MasterCard® SecureCode™ and Verified by Visa websites. Once you have registered and created your own private password with your card issuer, you will be prompted automatically at the checkout to provide this password each time you make a purchase. Please note, your Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode password is not your Hambledon account password. We do not have access to your Verified by Visa and MasterCard® SecureCodeTM password.

We also accept Paypal as a payment method.


What do I do if a product is listed as 'unavailable'?

Items may be out of stock. Sometimes they are completely sold out, never to reappear. Sometimes they are due back in stock. You can use the "Email me when Back Instock" button, or if you would like to know when they are next available, please email us at shop@thehambledon.com or call us on 01962 890055.

Can I include a gift message with my order?

Yes your message can be entered on the ‘BASKET’ page (this is the stage before ‘CHECKOUT’. If you have any trouble, do email or call us with your message.

Can I buy gift vouchers online?

Yes, you can buy gift vouchers in the 'GIFTS' department of the website.

(You cannot buy a new Gift Voucher with an existing Gift Voucher.)

Can I redeem gift vouchers online?

Maybe! We have changed our till system so old vouchers and credit notes can still only be redeemed instore or over the phone.

If you purchased a gift voucher on or after 16th April 2021 (or were given a credit note) they are redeemable across any department, be it online, instore or over the phone. 

- Hambledon Gift Vouchers will now be emailed to you automatically when purchased (if you require a physical version, please contact us at online@thehambledon.com).

- There will be no delivery charges online if you are only purchasing Gift Vouchers.

- They do not expire. 

- If a Gift Voucher is part-used, the remaining amount will stay on your Gift Voucher until it is completely spent.

How do I know you have received my order?

You will receive an email confirming receipt of your order.

How do I know when my order has been shipped?

As soon as your order has been dispatched, you will be sent an email to confirm that it's on its way. You can track your order using the tracking number on this email. You can also trace the order by logging in to your Hambledon account.

How long does delivery take and cost?

UK Mainland Delivery (inc. Northern Ireland):

Store Pick Up is free and you will be notified when your order is ready for collection.

Standard delivery is free of charge for all orders over £100 (£4.95 for orders less than £100) and takes 3-5 working days

Express is £6.95 and takes 1-2 working days

UK Highlands and Islands is £9.95

Non-UK Delivery:

European Standard Delivery is £15

U.S.A Standard Delivery is £20

Rest of the World Standard Delivery is £25

Please note that this charge is for delivery only, therefore all non-UK customers will be responsible for any import duties, charges and local taxes.

All orders are shipped with DHL, DPD or UPS and require a signature on receipt, unless specified otherwise. Once shipped, you will be sent your tracking number and you will be updated on your parcel's progress by either text or email. You will also be able to manage your delivery, including requests to leave parcels in a safe place/ with a neighbour and to arrange re-delivery.

Delivery charges for extra large items (e.g. furniture) will have to be arranged on a cost basis. Please ring us on 01962 890055 for details. 

Will I have to pay customs and import charges?

It is possible you will. Any customs or import duties and taxes are charged by local customs agencies once the parcel reaches its destination country. These charges must be paid by the recipient of the parcel.

V.A.T is automatically removed for orders with a destination outside of the UK. You will need to pay the V.A.T applicable to your destination.

We have no control over these charges and cannot tell you what they will cost as customs policies, import duties and V.A.T vary widely in each country and are set out by the recipient country, not by the UK. It is the customer's responsibility to understand any additional payments required on your purchase, so do contact your local customs office for current charges before you order.

If any parcels are returned to us due to customs charges being higher than expected, we reserve the right to deduct from your refund any costs we incur.

What can I do if something is wrong with my order?

If you receive the wrong item or something is missing from your order please send us an email to online@thehambledon.com and we will sort it out.

How do I return an item?

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with your online purchase and wish to return it for a full refund*, please request a return via www.thehambledon.com/returns within 14 days of receipt. If your request is approved, please ensure that the goods are returned in perfect saleable condition, in their original packaging, with the invoice as proof of purchase within 14 days of receipt to:

We will issue a full refund to the card used when placing the order, excluding any delivery charges. Please allow up to 10 days for a full refund from the date we receive the goods. Please note: the cost of returning the goods and the safe return of goods is your responsibility until the order is received at our returns depot, we therefore suggest you return items using a recorded delivery service. 

*Please note: items excluded from this policy are any special orders; hats; hair accessories; make-up; skincare; fragrance (including home fragrance); edible items such as chocolates. These items are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged. This does not affect your statutory rights.

How do I exchange an item?

If you find you need an alternative size or colour of an item that you have ordered, make a request to us via email at online@thehambledon.com and we will let you know if the required item is available. If it is we will ship it to you free of charge, but the return of the original item(s) is still your responsibility.

How do I sign up for The Hambledon newsletter?

You can sign up for our newsletters (and select a topic preference of Womenswear, Menswear and Homeware) by clicking on the button at the top right of the screen and entering your details. There is also an option to sign up when you create an account.

Do you have a shop?

The bricks and mortar version of The Hambledon is 10 The Square, Winchester SO23 9ES 01962 890055. Everything online and a lot more besides, including a full range of womenswear and menswear is available to buy.
