Fourpenny Theatre
$32.00
Known in Victorian times as Juvenile Drama, toy theatres were originally made as souvenirs of live theatre, creating an ideal home entertainment. The Pollock’s Toy Theatre has inspired generations and long been a part of Britain’s theatrical heritage.
This is The Fourpenny Theatre, a magnificent and fanciful stage originally designed by Victorian toy theatre publisher W.G.Webb from the archive of Peter Baldwin. Beautifully presented in a printed envelope with name plate, the Fourpenny Theatre comes with scenes and characters from the original Pollock's play The Corsican Brothers. A booklet contains an adapted script of a humorous retelling of the Victorian melodrama about fraternal love.
The theatre will take 1.5 – 2 hours to complete. You will need scissors and/or a craft knife and glue. Full photographic instructions are included.
