The Wedding Table

As if we needed a reason. Wedding season gives us the perfect excuse to lay an extravagant table for this Summer's wedding breakfast. Or lunch. Or supper. Tuck in.
The Flowers
Are we looking at the happy couple? Or are we looking at the flowers? Foxgloves, alchemilla and cow parsley with garden peonies and daisies, all thrown together in a mass of friendly informality. As a counterpoint to the deceptively messy florals, we used John Julian vases and beakers, Mosser Glass mixing bowls and stainless flower stands to create some order and structure; pitched in at different heights to offset too much order.
The Serveware
The perfect shininess of stainless steel (we used scallop serving trays, ice cream cups and couples) paired with simple white china and set in extravagant piles. For drinkware we love a touch of The Vintage List etched glass. This is a table setting which celebrates modernity but nods to Georgian elegance and rural plenty. At once reserved and exuberant.
