Grab a quick coffee and a delicious bun at The Academy which is just behind the shop (owner Louis makes our Friday coffees every week).

If you’re feeling creative, and festive, head to our lovely friends at Stem and Green (it’s a short cab ride from the centre of town) for one of their wreath making workshops, using flowers and plants grown on their farm.

If you’re more of a watcher, check out the Autumn exhibition at The Arc which focuses on the work of the great Ray Harryhausen. Relive those school holidays watching Jason and the Argonauts.

Grab a slice at Five Boroughs Pizza (go for the homemade hot honey topping). They’ll be playing classic hip hop and showing old basketball games on the TV. If you’re looking for a healthier alternative Open House Deli  do really good salads and plenty of vegan options. If you need a restorative hot toddy, General Store do the best mulled wine.

Take a stroll around the cathedral grounds. From the beginning of November the inner close is the venue for the Winchester Christmas Market. Top tip: Enter from the south. The queues through the close can be absolutely horrible.

Beer, tacos and v loud (in a good way) DJs at Overdraft before heading home
