La Ciergerie have been making wax candles and votives since 1858. Based in Tarascon (south of Avignon, north of Arles, if you're thinking of making a pilgrimage), the wax making follows the traditional methods established by the Peres blancs of the original abbey in the town. The company has been awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant from the French government for their commitment to regional craft.
