About The Real Flower Company

Founded by Rosebie Morton in 1995, The Real Flower Company was born out of her frustration with the lack of scent and character in the average floral bouquet. Rosebie set out to bring fragrance and natural beauty back to the cut flower world. She started growing roses in her mother in law’s wall garden in Hampshire and in 1998, in partnership with Tim and Maggie Hobbs, she set up a sister farm, Tambuzi, in Kenya, so that TRFCo could supply flowers year round. Over the past decade the business has expanded to include two standalone London shops, a thriving online florist and a five hectare field (still in Hampshire, we love a local entrepreneur) growing around 250 different flowers and foliage but still specialising in garden roses (30,000 bushes, if you can imagine). TRFCo is proud of being instrumental in reintroducing the importance of natural fragrance to flowers, whilst adopting strict environmental sustainability, and strong business ethics to the modern flower industry.

Rosebie is joined by her son, Alastair Morton, who leads sales and marketing for the business. Together, they continue to evolve The Real Flower Company's vision while remaining rooted in the principles on which it was founded. One of the latest additions to the business is LORE, a subscription service created to make seasonal British flowers part of everyday life.

Unlike traditional bouquets, LORE delivers unarranged stems selected entirely according to what is looking best on the farm at any given time. Grown on The Real Flower Company's farms near Alresford in Hampshire and Chichester in West Sussex, the flowers reflect the changing seasons and are delivered once a month, three times per season. Designed to connect customers more closely with the rhythm of nature, LORE celebrates the quiet beauty of locally grown flowers and the seasonality at the heart of The Real Flower Company's approach.
