Jodie has a side project as a gardener so inordinate thanks to her for careful scavenging of peonies, sweet peas and buddleia. Dave on the market furnished the gyp. But this wasn't an exercise in immaculate arrangements, instead a very informal throwing together of garden finds. We picked pinks and purples but you should focus on your very own favourite colours and blooms. Mosser cakestands and tumblers provide some height and colour and Vintage List vases are picture perfect for the purpose.
This is going to be a feast so pile up the plates (Costa Nova, of course); lay out the cutlery (Brick Lane from KN Industrie) and top up the glasses (Cote Table stemware and Vintage List tumblers). The lovely Bicla lace edged tablecloths and napkins are the perfect neutral foil for the colourful flowers. As ever mix and match candles and candlesticks for a touch of joyous craziness (colours according to your blooms).
This is the very best bit. Tie multi coloured ribbons to the backs of the chairs (nothing too formal here. Charming whimsy is key). Sprinkle confetti on the table (because nothing says wedding like confetti. And the vicar can't get cross about the mess). And who doesn't love a wish paper as a party favour? Gold embossed initials at every place setting for a supremely personalised touch.
A little token of your love for your guests. All wrapped up with prettiest tissue paper and mildly clashing grosgrain ribbon. These are the details that make the day even more memorable.
