A display of Petra Boase cards

20 years on, greeting cards are still very much the core of our business. We now print 90% of the collections in house on our Risograph printer using ecological soya inks & printing onto FSC card. The vibrant colours and neon pops are an important feature in the card collections.

A Petra Boase Rainbow print
Boats in Norfolk
Shelves of ephemera

Never been shy of a pattern clash! My daughter’s bedroom is made up of strips of old Vintage wallpapers, its busy on the eyes!

Norfolk has been our happy home for 17 years now and I can’t imagine living anywhere else; empty roads, beautiful beaches and tranquil forests.

Over the years I have accumulated all sorts of random knick knacks and ephemera that feed into my design work.

Rails of coloured wrick wrack
Hand writing Petra Boase cards
Home-grown Dahlias in a jug

When I’m in New York for trade shows I always migrate to the garment district for a peruse around the haberdashery and trimming shops. A particular obsession of mine is wrick wrack. I never quite know what to do with it so just hoard it waiting for a eureka moment!

We send a lot of hand written personalised greeting cards and can’t help but feel moved by some of the sweet messages. My GCSE redundant daughter has been given the task of writing them and it's inspired her to write to friends.

I love growing sweet peas and dahlias, quintessentially English and so joyful.

Swan vases on shelves
Interior of a Shepherd's Hut
A pile of gifts wrapped in a variet of Petra Boase neon animal print wrapping papers

Another of my ‘over time’ collections , the elegant swan vase and this is only half of them!

I do all our lifestyle photography. This is my mums restored Shepherds hut that gets used as a location.

Our animal print wrap has been going strong for a number of years now and Is here for the long haul whatever fashion dictates, for us it’s a classic.

A big vase of foraged blossom and branches
Petra Boase in Uganda

My brother gave me a pair of Japeto secatuers which I love, I never come home from a walk without a big foraged bunch of something! At the moment it’s all about blossom and young spring leaves

Stitch is another big part of the business. This is a jacket I put together to show our patches in action. I love doodling with stitch and am excited to soon be launching our new ‘Stitch It Kit ‘

This is me last summer in Uganda on a family adventure to explore my father’s childhood country. There was so much to love but as a lover of strong colour and bold pattern the vibrancy of the markets blew me away.
