We're laying the table four ways from exuberant fun to subtle sophistication; from ramped up trad to 80s cocktail lounge.
I have referenced it before (and, rest assured, I will again) this is Peppermint Park c. 1985 with a riot of minty green and pastel pink. Tie your napkins with ribbon, dot your table with the prettiest candles, unfurl your paper Christmas trees, pile up the provisions on towers of cake stands and dive in to a Blue Lagoon or a Tequila Sunrise.
Red and Green are the traditional choice for the season so we're having a bit of fun with this festive palette and making an extravagant toadstool forest worthy of Antonio Carluccio. Natural greenery nestles on a bed of seersucker linen with red and green accessories and decs. Check out our How To to make your very own paper trims garland.
Red and pink is my favourite ever colour combination. Go all out with baubles and candles and linen and ribbons and shout the joy of an exuberant clash. Crackers disguised in cloth napkins. Candles disguised as sticks of rock. Use the Christmas houses or Tooka planters filled with tree decorations as centrepieces. We are having a high sugar Christmas at this table.
