Absolutely beyond delighted to be working with our old friends Jumper 1234 on an exclusive collaboration in The Hambledon’s Project Space.
We have been buying, and most definitely selling, Jumper 1234 cashmere, since it was launched in 2014. Beloved of store buyers and customers alike, Jumper 1234 is designed in London and made in factories in Mongolia. The Project is an opportunity to showcase exclusive Hambledon/Jumper 1234 pieces and revisit old favourites in brand new colourways.

Founded in 2014 by fashion stalwarts and all round good eggs Jane Wilson and Denise Tavernier (they own the award winning fashion agency Chiltern Street Studio from whom we have been buying for almost 20 years), Jumper 1234 evolved from a chance showroom meeting with a cashmere supplier after a fruitless search for a knitwear brand to represent at Chiltern Street. The collection began life as 3 styles in 57 colours. They now produce around 400 different styles and are represented and sold globally. The design process is collaborative with Denise and Jane working alongside newest recruit, design graduate Darcie.

The team are obsessed with stripes and this motif, in all manner of permutations from broad to fine; subtle to shouty; all over to placement is a constant in their collections. Expect to see colour. They embrace a wide ranging palette and each season’s colour card is a thing of beauty and much deliberation. A healthy dose of humour isn’t unusual (this season we’re loving a cheeky French swear).

As part of the Project we will be hosting a very special darning workshop with Sarah Ward from Lark and Bower. If you have knitwear in need of a visible mend, sign up for your chance to learn the skills. And we will be running a competition for your chance to win £300 worth of cashmere.
With shades of an 80s Benetton revival (shelves and shelves of multi coloured knits, all, never doubt us, immaculately folded), Jumper 1234 x The Hambledon runs in the Project Space on Friday 18th August-Sunday 1st October.
