Cocktail Hour

Maybe you have been topping up the cellar on your weekly shopping trips or maybe you’re down to the last dusty bottle of ouzo from that memorable Greek holiday. We’ve put together some top cocktail tips for your home based soirées.
A collection of drinks and spirits on a countertop.

What’s Your Tipple?

In this new world of WFH, and over familiarity with video calling, it’s quite nice to be able to put Zoom to work as a party venue and not a conference room. Get the gang back together and chit chat about life and times over a few drinks. Or make a regular evening chez vous (yet another regular evening!) into something a little more special with fancy drinks and the full Tom Cruise in Cocktail experience.

The Champagne Saucer

Lucy’s trusty King’s Ginger cocktail. She adds a little chunk of crystallised ginger to the bottom of the glass because she always makes things better!

The Shot Glass

Everyone has a dusty bottle of Tequila at the back of the drinks cabinet. Sambuca from a drunken night in Tuscany? The shot glass is your friend for getting through this. We’re using By Mutti egg/whisky cups. So they’ll be perfect for sorting out your hangover with boiled egg and soldiers the next morning. Alternatively you can re-purpose a Liqueur glass to give an element of sophistication.

The Goblet

Some of us just aren’t all about the cocktails. Feel free to get involved in a nice Aloxe Corton or Chassagne Montrachet. And use an extra large glass. Please.

The Tumbler

We haven’t got a hi ball at The Hambledon. You’ll have to make your classic Negroni in a beautiful Vintage List tumbler.

The Cocktail Glass

With the myriad cocktails out there it can be hard to choose your signature recipe (although we are more than happy to work through them to try and find it!). Thankfully, finding the perfect Cocktail glass is far easier. It's the Spears design from The Vintage List.

The Teacup

Feeling adventurous? Try your Espresso Martini in a tea cup: the impression of a wholesome beverage but packing quite a caffeine/alcohol punch.
