Baum und Pferdgarten
Founded in 1999 and based in the centre of Copenhagen, Baum und Pferdgarten is a collection of beautiful and interesting contrasts. It is more theatrical than quirky, always immaculately constructed and the essence of Scandinavian cool.
Baum and Pferdgarten are riding the hotly tipped homespun wave for Pre Fall with crochet, patchwork and ditsy prints. The hand crocheted knits (although surely you can't have a crocheted knit) are the key pieces of the collection (Cicilla and Cedrianna), paying homage to some of the runway styles from last season (a hint of Burberry here). There's pieced chambray in the dramatically patchworked Dezie coat and Shreela skirt. And the pretty floral Asaga and Amaira dresses tie the stories together.
AW21 navigates this world of contrasts, focussing on Denmark’s beautiful coastline in contrast to industrial wastelands. Expect a collection of intriguing prettiness (their own maritime toile de jouy, featuring a fisherwoman bringing home her catch), classic sailor stripes all played out against fluoro knitwear and nylon bags.
